Chocolate Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl

Revamp your traditional oatmeal breakfast! Using banana as a sweetener, this chocolate oatmeal recipe has no added sugar and is fully customizable to whatever you’re craving. Whip it up on the stove or in the microwave and finish with your favorite toppings. We’re personal fans of sliced strawberries or a dollop of peanut butter on top! 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Toppings of choice - chopped nuts, sliced fruit, shredded coconut or chocolate chips all make tasty options!

Directions
Stovetop: In a small saucepan, combine oats, mashed banana, almond milk and cocoa powder. Simmer until milk has absorbed into the oats, around 5-8 minutes. Finish with desired toppings and serve warm. 
Microwave: Combine oats and almond milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2½ minutes. Stir in mashed banana until combined, then mix in cocoa powder until creamy. Serve with desired toppings.
