Infinite Jest
By: David Foster Wallace Buy at Amazon We haven't been shy about being big fans of David Foster Wallace, who is the greatest fictional tennis writer in our humble opinion. But today's read, Infinite Jest, is not a lightweight, weekend read. This one could take you all the way through this quarantine. Set in an addicts' halfway house and a tennis academy, and featuring the most endearingly screwed-up family to come along in recent fiction, Infinite Jest explores essential questions about what entertainment is and why it has come to so dominate our lives; about how our desire for entertainment affects our need to connect with other people; and about what the pleasures we choose say about who we are. It's a deep read, but if you can dive in and commit, it may be one of the best books you've ever read.
