After an exciting and unpredictable year of tennis, EXPERIENCE is looking back at some of the year's best moments in our 2017 "Top 10" series. Today we highlight the top 10 shots of the year on the WTA Tour.

10. Elina Svitolina's Forehand Rocket
Toronto Svitolina can play offense and defense just about equally well, and it's on display in this point. After fighting off some great balls from Wozniacki, the Ukranian goes out wide and smacks a forehand cross court winner. |

9. Kristina Mladenovic's Outrageous Pickup
Stuttgart To hit a half-volley slice in any situation is tough; to do it on clay is even tougher! Mladenovic not only makes the shot, but pushes it deep in the court for a winner in Stuttgart. It was a tough end to the season for the Frenchwoman, but hopefully she can get back to hitting shots like this in 2018 |

8. Agnieszka Radwanka's Baffling Defense
Brisbane She is the queen of the highlight reel. Radwanska has won shot of the year honors from the WTA many times and was in contention once again this year. This, from the first week of 2017, displays her uncanny ability to transition from defense to offense in just one shot. Absurd. |

7. Kristyna Pliskova's Drop Volley from No-Mans Land
Jiangxi If this event was higher profile, we would have placed this shot near the very top of the list. The degree of difficulty here is arguable the highest of any shot this year. Kristyna Pliskova (twin sister of Karolina) hits this side-spinning drop volley from no-mans land and still gets the ball to check up perfectly for an incredible winner. |

6. Caroline Wozniacki's Top-Shelf Lob
Miami A very solid year for Wozniacki saw her hit many quality shots, including her signature lob. She is so comfortable on the two-handed backhand, and after drawing her opponent in with a slice, Wozniacki whips her top hand over to bring the ball up and down just inside the baseline. |

5. Venus Williams' Miraculous Defense
Rome Venus' amazing year including some fantastic hot-shots, like this staggering defense in Rome against Garbine Muguruza. Appearing totally jammed, Venus somehow reached behind her at the last second to throw up a defensive lob. It barely landed in, but from there the American would take back control of the point. |

4. Julia Goerges Set Point Thunderbolt
Zhuhai Goerges power is extremely underrated; she can hit the ball as big as anyone on the WTA. This final tournament of the season featured some great matchups, including this power vs power face-off between Goerges and Vandewhege. Goerges, on set point, hits a massive forehand on the run. |

3. Sloane Stephens New York Heroics
U.S. Open There were so many incredible points during Sloane Stephens breathtaking run to the U.S. Open title, but none greater than this clutch save down 4-5 in the third set against Venus Williams. With her back against the wall, Stephens regained her balance at the last second to rip a backhand pass up the line. The New York crowd went wild. |

2. Magdalena Rybarikova's Crazy Combo
Linz Some serious racquet skills on display in this point, with Rybarikova going behind the back to keep herself in the point. It doesn't stop there, as she hits a stunning backhand on the run before reaching the drop shot and winning the point. Round of applause for that one! |

1. Daria Kasatkina's Tweener Winner
Toronto A no-doubter from the second she hit it in our book. Kasatkina's tweener was so well struck that even her opponent Roberta Vinci had a smile on her face. The Russian's athleticism could allow her to make a major breakthrough in 2018, but for now, just enjoy this epic tweener. |
